Showers and thunderstorms are expected in parts of North Cyprus from Tuesday to Thursday, with cooler conditions forecast later in the week, according to the Meteorology Department.

Three days of showers forecast as temperatures set to fall

The department’s forecast for October 27 to November 2 says low pressure and an associated frontal system will affect the region, bringing partly cloudy to overcast skies and localised rain during the first three days. Patches of fog are also expected on Tuesday morning.

Conditions should become drier from Friday, with partly cloudy or mostly clear skies for the remainder of the forecast period.

Daytime temperatures inland are expected to reach 25–28°C initially before falling to 21–24°C. Coastal highs will range from 24–27°C in the early part of the period, dropping to 20–23°C, while mountain temperatures will fall from 20–23°C to 16–19°C.

Nights will also turn cooler. Inland overnight lows are forecast to fall from 13–16°C to 9–12°C, while coastal minimums will drop from 16–19°C to 12–15°C. In the mountains, overnight temperatures will decline from 14–17°C to 10–13°C.

Winds will generally blow from the north at moderate strength, becoming locally strong on rainy days.
