Erhürman is expected to return to the TRNC on Friday.

Hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the summit will bring together leaders of member countries and senior representatives of observer states. The leaders’ meeting takes place on Friday under the theme “Turkic Century: Unity in Language, Thought and Deed”.

Discussions will cover political and economic co-operation, trade, transport links, energy and digital transformation, alongside regional and international developments. Türkiye will take over the organisation’s rotating chairmanship from Azerbaijan, with leaders expected to adopt an Ankara Declaration setting out priorities for further co-operation.

The TRNC was granted observer status at the organisation’s Samarkand summit in November 2022. The OTS has five full members — Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan — while Hungary and Turkmenistan also hold observer status.
