DP confirms 50 parliamentary candidates

The party said applications were assessed through internal procedures and district consultations before being approved by its Central Executive Committee and submitted to the Party Assembly for final endorsement.

The slate comprises 16 candidates for Lefkoşa, 12 each for Gazimağusa and Girne, five for İskele, three for Güzelyurt and two for Lefke.

Hasan Tosunoğlu heads the Lefkoşa list, Fikri Ataoğlu leads Gazimağusa and DP general secretary Serhat Akpınar tops the Girne slate. Mustafa Erbilen heads İskele, Pembe Gökdağ leads Güzelyurt and Nadir Tahsildaroğulları takes first place in Lefke.

DP said its candidates represented different sections of society and brought experience from a range of professional backgrounds. Its aim, the party added, was to secure a strong voice in government and deliver lasting change.

Mr Akpınar said the party would campaign without polarising society or excluding any section of the public, promising an approach focused on building confidence and finding solutions.
