Cyprus leaders to meet UN envoy on Monday
The three-way meeting will begin at 11am at the UN mission chief’s residence in the buffer zone.
Holguín, the UN Secretary-General’s personal envoy on Cyprus, met each leader twice in the run-up to the talks. She said she was optimistic and that the meetings had focused on what could be achieved on Monday.
The envoy also met technical committees, political party representatives, former presidents and civil society groups. She visited Türkiye’s ambassador in Lefkoşa, Ali Murat Başçeri, and said she had relayed to Christodoulides a message from Ankara that she received through the ambassador.
Erhürman and Christodoulides last met face to face on 27 October at the UN Good Offices Mission. After nearly an hour of private talks, they met representatives of the technical committees on cultural heritage and youth, as well as members of the civil society consultation steering committee.
