HOTELIERS bosses have signalled that they are “ready to open” and have announced the measures they will be taking, Cyprus Today can report.

Ready for check in

Cyprus Turkish Hoteliers’ Union president, Dimağ Çağıner, told this newspaper that all coaches and cars belonging to hotels will be disinfected. Guests will not be asked to wait for longer than five minutes when they check-in . Rooms will be opened with cards or via a mobile phone app. Guests will be allowed to enter a room only after it has been left vacant for at least 12 hours. Rooms will be fully disinfected with moves to consider disposal furniture. Mr Çağıner said the hotels will be required to invest in anti Covid-19 measures. “We have begun training our personnel. In the next 10 days, we will be in a position to say that all our hotels are ready for opening and to receive guests. The TRNC is one of five countries in the world that is clear of Covid-19, and an island that is isolated. It has the capacity to control the population. These are great advantages.” Casino Operators’ Union general secretary, Ercan Turan, said they supported the opening of hotels and will follow the guidelines of the Cyprus Turkish Hoteliers’ Union. “We have as the Union taken all measures. . .we will ensure that all our guests can enjoy playing in a healthy atmosphere. We will be following the measures taken by casinos in Las Vegas,” he said.
