NCCCT explains delays in funding allocation

THE NORTH Cyprus Cancer Charity Trust held a joint press conference at Girne Akçiçek State Hospital yesterday to allay unease over delays in hospital funding allocation following a public debate on social media. NCCCT Chairperson Wendy Anderson said: “I and my colleagues chose to stay silent this week rather than start a bunfight. We are here with Dr Ceyhun today to protect the name of our 31-year old charity and give a reasoned response. “I am here almost every day at the moment for meetings as we have been downsizing a revised new ‘wishlist’ from the doctors which was valued at 818,321.49TL which has delayed funding as we simply do not have enough funds. “I am also available to meet with our members on Friday mornings at the hospital Heartbeat charity shop or at the Hut on Saturday mornings and have already offered to meet face to face with any members and provide paperwork to reassure them.” She added: “I was shocked by this reaction and very concerned for the charity’s name.
