“We are so happy to finally announce that the rescue centre can now reopen to visitors,” KAR said in a message to its supporters.

“You can find us in the Beşparmak Mountains above Arapköy and we are open seven days a week from 9am to 1pm.

“Now that the weather appears to be picking up, come along and spend some time with us in the fresh air up in the mountains, maybe walking one (or more) of our dogs, or just giving them even more love and attention than they already get from the centre staff and volunteers.

“Any donations you bring along with you will be gratefully received.”

Visitors must sign in, have their tem- peratures taken, use hand sanitiser, wear face masks at all times and maintain social distancing.

“We also ask that children are kept with you at all times,” the KAR message added.

KAR also announced on Tuesday the start of a two-week long “buy one, get one free” sale at its charity clothes shop in the centre of Girne, behind the fire station, with the cheapest item free.

Both of KAR’s Grine charity shops are now open Monday to Saturday, from 10am to 1pm.
